How this immersive art exhibition sold out across 6 months

25th Sep 2023

“In this day and age when many are looking for ways to give back, it’s awesome to be able to say that our event was able to generate charitable donations via Humanitix. We would never go back and work with other ticketing competitors because it just doesn't make sense for us internally. As a bonus, from a public facing perspective, it's good for branding and value-alignment with our audience.”

- Madison O'Nions, Creative Project Manager for The Social Crew

Creative Project Manager for The Social Crew, Madison O’Nions, was looking for a user-friendly ticketing platform with a sessional calendar that could handle huge volumes of traffic and bookings for the high-profile artist, Rone. She used Humanitix to host a sold-out immersive art exhibition for Rone over the course of 6 months.

“When we were looking for a ticketing platform for Rone, Humanitix stood out because it's a user-friendly platform, and as a social enterprise, it aligned with the values of The Social Crew as well as the artist. Because it was an Australian company with local account managers as well as in-house developers, it was a no-brainer to work together for that responsive support.”

“We'd been working with a competing ticketing platform previously and as we were only the second company globally to roll out a sessional calendar on a self-managed platform, we did run into a few issues along the way as it was a new method of event ticketing. A key challenge with this was not having a local contact in Australia, so we found it difficult to get support during peak periods without waking up a developer in the middle of their night, or staying up late ourselves.”

“We couldn't have asked for a better result. It's nice to know that we can align ourselves with an organisation that allows for such a huge donation to be made. Part of us reaching capacity was also to ensure that we were able to donate as much as we could from the tickets sales, so the money raised in booking fee donations has been phenomenal.”

We asked Madi what her top three favourite features were on Humanitix:

Tixel integration

“We had over 22,000 people on the waitlist and we resold about 3,900 tickets - which was pretty much every single ticket up for resale. It was one of the highest-selling events Tixel has had on their platform within the last 12 months. Humanitix’s Tixel integration was amazing - it all worked so smoothly and took away the need for manual work. We're really pleased with these results!”

Ticket swapping

“One area we wanted to enhance from the previous Empire exhibition was ticket swapping and having to constantly go in and do it very manually. Using Humanitix’s ticket swapping tool made the process super seamless, especially as we had such a high volume of requests. It only took us a few clicks to swap tickets to another session, and a new ticket was generated on the spot.”

Human support

“One of the major deciding factors in switching to Humanitix was that it’s an Australian company. Because you’re local, you're there for us when we need help on something. Humanitix has been super responsive which we've absolutely appreciated throughout the whole period of working with you guys.”
