Humanitix has a deep love for hosts that do good, but too often event creators and makers go unthanked. We want to turn the spotlight on them and shine a light on hosts that go above and beyond for their community.

Today we want to celebrate a festival that made the switch to Humanitix way back in 2021. They backed our mission before many other major festivals did and we love them for it. Since then, Strawberry Fields has accumulated nearly $200K of booking fees since making the switch. So turning their ticket booking fees into donation dollars feels darn good!

Who are Strawberry Fields?

Strawberry Fields was founded in 2009 by a trio of young dreamers. With less than 1,000 attending the inaugural three-day, Strawberry Fields has now grown to attract 10,000+ patrons from across the globe and has solidified its reputation as one of Australia’s best-known art, music & camping festivals. With the customised sustainable infrastructure in place, attendees can bask in the revelry of four days of live music, large-scale art, workshops, and wild river swimming in one of the most stunning natural environments Australia has to offer.

SPOTLIGHT ON IMPACT, REAL GOOD IMPACT.

Strawberry Fields not only puts on a great shindig, but they also work hard with Humanitix to create positive, social, and environmental change.
How? By:

★ Providing opportunities for Yorta Yorta & other First Nations artists to perform at the festival.

★ Curating a 100% Australian artist lineup for 2022.

★ Committing to protecting our natural environment and ensuring sustainability is a top priority in all aspects of event design.

★ Implementing 100% composting toilets, and grey water filtration systems integrated with permaculture gardens.

★ Using Australia’s first 100% reusable crockery system for 10,000 patrons at a multi-day greenfield festival.

Strawberry Fields Community Grants fund - dispersing up to $35,000 annually in micro-grants to local community organisations and not-for-profits.

★ The Chillin’n’Grillin Community BBQ which is staffed by volunteers and raises up to $30,000 annually for Tocumwal local groups.

Strawberry Fields has even been awarded A Greener Festival’s Water & Sanitation award. Go you good things!

Humanitix has a deep love for event hosts that do good, so we were absolutely devastated to hear that Strawberry had to cancel due to flooding in October. This was among the many cancellations that event hosts suffered last year due to extreme weather events and market forces. Humanitix is sending big love to the event hosts, crew, and volunteers who we know will continue to do amazing things in 2023 and beyond.

Backed by Google.org and the Atlassian Foundation, Humanitix is converting the USD $3.7bn in annual global booking fees into social impact projects that give disadvantaged kids greater access to education, healthcare and a fair go in life.
