No more surprises with more transparent pricing

At Humanitix, we are committed to tickets for good, not greed, and that includes enhancing transparency and simplicity throughout the ticket purchasing process. We’re excited to announce a significant update in how ticket prices and fees are displayed for events across Humanitix. This change is designed to benefit both hosts and attendees by providing clearer pricing information upfront.

What's changing?

We have listened to your feedback and made a new update to the display of ticket pricing where fees are being passed on. With this change, ticket prices will still appear with the booking fee, however the net value of the ticket will be displayed first (exclusive of fees) followed by the fee.

This will help to create a more streamlined experience for buyers; with transparency around the breakdown of the ticket price itself before fees, as well as reiterating that there are no hidden costs. This was improved in response to feedback from our hosts.

A detailed breakdown of the ticket's face value, booking fees, and taxes will still be available during the checkout process.

An example scenario

An example scenario of a ticket price of $30 with a passed-on booking fee of $1.50 would be:

• New display: $30 + $1.50 fee
• Old display: $31.50 (incl. $1.50 fee)

Previous changes (superseded by the above)

Since 13 August 2024, all ticket prices were shown inclusive of fees. This update was to ensure everyone can see the total cost upfront, simplifying the ticket purchasing process, and avoiding any surprises at the checkout.

The changes will apply across all currencies and include prices shown on:

• Event Pages
• Ticket Selection Pages

A detailed breakdown of the ticket's face value, booking fees, and taxes will still be available during the checkout process. This transparency helps hosts and ticket buyers understand how the total price is composed without any hidden costs.

Why are we making this change?

Previously, only the face value of the ticket was shown initially, with additional fees added during checkout. New global legislation is pushing for greater pricing transparency across various industries, including ticketing.

Transparency is a key focus for Humanitix in offering tickets for good, not greed, so we’re excited to make this update. Doing so will allow us to align the legislative changes but also help eliminate confusion and ensure that attendees have a clear understanding of costs from the start.

No change to fee amounts

There is no change to the fees for hosts or attendees. This change simply affects how ticket prices and fees are displayed, improving clarity for everyone.

By ensuring that ticket prices include all relevant fees upfront, we aim to remove any surprises during the checkout process, making it easier for everyone to make informed purchasing decisions.
