We exist for one reason: to give children born into poverty a fighting chance. Here’s who we are, what we stand for, and why it matters.

Humanitix was founded on a simple idea inspired by the Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus: that business can be a force for good. We’re a registered not-for-profit that dedicates 100% of our booking fee profits to high-impact charities focused on children’s health and education.
We fund and partner with organisations guided by The Life You Can Save to ensure every dollar creates the greatest possible impact for disadvantaged communities around the world. We back a wide range of work in the poorest parts of Asia and Africa, as well as in the countries we operate including Australia, the US, the UK and New Zealand.
Our charitable giving is guided by impact data, with a portion also going to staff-directed giving. We follow the evidence on where dollars do the most good for the world’s most disadvantaged children, regardless of geography, religion, or politics.

Humanitix is strictly non-political and non-religious. This isn’t a slogan - it’s an operational principle we enforce rigorously. We don’t fund lobbying. We don’t take political positions. We don’t align ourselves with any government, ideology, movement or political cause. We focus on what unites us: helping people in poverty. To give you a sense of how seriously we take it: we once declined a staff member’s request to donate to a road safety charity - not because road safety isn’t important, but because that particular organisation’s approach involved lobbying the government for policy changes.
Humanitix has been used to sell millions of tickets across hundreds of thousands of events globally. Our community includes music festivals, business conferences, cultural celebrations, fundraisers, comedy shows, workshops, community gatherings, and everything in between.
Our platform policy is clear and applied without exception: Humanitix can only be used for events that are lawful. That threshold is set by local jurisdictional law and it applies equally regardless of the ideology, faith, or political position of the event host. An event ticketed on Humanitix should never be read as an endorsement of its speakers, hosts, or content.
Every major ticketing platform in the world hosts events across the full spectrum of political, cultural, and religious perspectives. That’s not a flaw in the model - it’s how open platforms work. And it’s how they should work in a healthy democracy.
Think of a library. A library stocks books representing an enormous range of perspectives, ideologies and viewpoints. You will almost certainly find books on its shelves that you disagree with - perhaps strongly. But no reasonable person would claim that the library endorses the views of every author in its collection. A library’s role is to provide access, not to pass judgment on ideas.
A ticketing platform operates on the same principle. Our role is to provide the infrastructure for events to sell tickets, and to turn those booking fees into impact for alleviating poverty. It is not our role - nor should it be - to decide who can speak, what ideas can be discussed, or which lawful perspectives are permitted. That responsibility belongs to the legal system, and where content is unlawful, we remove it.
Where we should take responsibility is in the events we actively promote through our newsletters. When curating these newsletters, we do our best to ensure we aren’t spreading any contentious events. We will make mistakes as we continue to grow servicing hundreds of thousands of events every year - please respectfully let us know if you see us actively promoting something we shouldn’t, it's quite plausible one our staff made a mistake or one of our system screens has missed something - we will take it on board, and if its valid feedback we’ll do our best to improve.
Walk through the Humanitix office and you’ll find a team that reflects the diverse world we serve. Among our team are migrants and refugees, LGBTQI+ folk, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, atheists, and everything in between. Across the organisation you’ll find people of different faiths, backgrounds, cultures, and naturally, different personal political perspectives.
None of that shapes Humanitix’s mission, because Humanitix doesn’t have a political position, and it’s not our culture to push politics through the organisation. What we do have is a shared belief that every child deserves a fair shot at life, and that the billions of dollars flowing through the events industry every year can be redirected to make this a reality.
That’s the premise our diverse team unites around. Not politics. Not religion. Just the conviction that alleviating poverty is something every decent person can get behind, regardless of what else they might disagree on.
Every time someone buys a ticket on Humanitix, the booking fee profit goes to evidence-based charities working on the frontlines of children’s health and education. We’re talking about programs that provide meals, deworming treatments, cataract surgeries and schooling to children who would otherwise go without. These are among the most cost-effective and thoroughly researched interventions in the world.
We don’t choose where to give based on politics or public pressure. We choose based on the data - where each dollar saves or improves the most lives. That commitment to impact over ideology is core to who we are.

Alongside our evidence-based charitable giving, we also run a staff giving program. Each year, every Humanitix employee receives a share of our profit pool to donate to a charity of their choice, which is a pretty awesome perk (up to $10,000 AUD per employee!).
Here are some typical examples of the type of programs our staff have funded through their choices:
DeadlyScience, which delivers STEM resources to Indigenous communities in Australia.
Woven Earth, a social enterprise supporting Māori communities in New Zealand.
Chef Ann Foundation, which pushes for healthier school meals in the United States.
Scotland with Kenya, which supports rural communities in East Africa.
There is one strict rule that governs staff giving: the same apolitical principle that governs everything else at Humanitix. Staff cannot direct their giving to organisations that are politically contentious or that could compromise Humanitix’s strictly non-partisan position. The same standard that led us to decline funding for a road safety lobbying group applies here. We make a point of not funding political advocacy or contentious movements.
The result is a giving portfolio that spans continents, cultures, and causes - all unified by a simple test: does this advance the world in a way Humanitix can get behind? To date, our team has directed over $1.5M through the staff giving program alone.
We ask event hosts and attendees to judge Humanitix by what we actually do: the people in poverty we help, the impact we create, the service we provide events, and the transparency with which we operate.
Our Community Guidelines set out the standards we hold ourselves and our platform to.
Like all ticketing platforms, we charge a booking fee on the paid tickets we sell. Unlike other ticketing platforms, 100% of the profits we make fund charitable projects. Once our costs are covered and we ensure Humanitix is sustainable, every dollar of leftover profit from our booking fees goes to impact - to partner charity projects and our own in-house charitable initiatives like our accessibility work for people with vision impairments.
As a registered charity, we don’t have any shareholders or venture capitalists waiting for a return on their investment. That means the money that would normally line shareholders’ pockets or make founders wealthy goes straight towards our mission of investing in humanity.
For a full breakdown of how our donation model works, including donation receipts and details on our charity partners, visit our Impact FAQs.
We do. A portion of our giving supports communities in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States - the markets where we are incorporated with offices. We will add to this as we continue to expand globally. Our Staff Giving program in particular channels hundreds of thousands of dollars to local causes chosen by our team.
In addition to our local impact, we direct a significant portion of our evidence-based giving to some of the poorest parts of the world - places like Sub-Saharan Africa - because each dollar goes dramatically further there. In wealthy countries, the challenges people face are real, but often complex and systemic. In the world’s poorest communities, the needs are far more basic: a child might die from a preventable disease for want of a treatment that costs a mere few dollars, or miss out on an education because their family can’t afford miniscule school fees. When we follow the evidence on where each dollar saves or improves the most lives, it consistently points to these communities.
That doesn’t mean local giving isn’t important - it is, and we do it. But we believe we have a responsibility to maximise the impact of every dollar, and sometimes that means reaching the communities where the need is most urgent and the cost of intervention is the lowest.
No. Humanitix is strictly apolitical and non-religious. We don’t fund lobbying, we don’t take political positions, and we don’t align ourselves with any government, ideology, movement, or political cause. This principle applies to our charitable giving, our Staff Giving program, and our platform policies equally. We focus exclusively on what unites our diverse team and the vast majority of our event hosts: alleviating poverty and giving children a fair shot at life.
Absolutely not. There are hundreds of thousands of events hosted on Humanitix globally, spanning the full spectrum of political, cultural, and religious perspectives. An event appearing on our platform should never be read as an endorsement of its speakers, hosts, or content - just as a library stocking a book doesn’t mean the library endorses that author’s views. Our role is to provide ticketing infrastructure and to turn booking fees into charitable impact. It is not our role to decide who can speak at what event. That responsibility belongs to the legal system, and where content is unlawful, we remove it.
Humanitix is a registered charity regulated by the ACNC (Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission), and we comply fully with all reporting requirements. However, there is a subset of charities that operate in competitive commercial environments of which Humanitix is one, and we exercise our right under the ACNC’s guidelines to withhold certain commercially sensitive financial information from the public register.
The reason is straightforward: while we are a charity, we compete directly with for-profit ticketing companies. If our detailed line-by-line financial statements were publicly available, our commercial competitors would gain an unfair advantage - they would be able to see our cost structures, margins, and operational details in granular detail, while we have no equivalent visibility into theirs. This would be potentially very damaging to our operations and create a fundamentally uneven playing field.
The ACNC explicitly recognises this concern and provides guidance for charities in our position. You can read the Commissioner’s Interpretation Statement on withholding commercially sensitive information on the ACNC website. We are fully transparent with our regulator and we publish our donation receipts for the public to provide evidence of the incredible amounts Humanitix is now donating to charity every year at no extra cost to anyone.
We choose our charity partners in collaboration with The Life You Can Save. This ensures that our giving is directed towards evidence-based interventions that create measurable, positive impact. We focus particularly on closing the education gap and alleviating poverty, with partners operating across Australia, the United States, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and developing regions globally.
