We know that once you experience the magic of Tūmanako Hope at this year’s Resolution Festival, you won’t want to leave, so to celebrate the first festival here, we are offering a limited number of extended camping tickets.
A limited number of lucky people will be able to stay for up to 10 days after Resolution Festival closes, from 2nd January to 12th January.  
Create your own festival feeling with acoustic jams, connect with the whenua with bush walks and swimming in the awa.  Experience what our community has to offer with garden working bees and book in with our Kaitiaki for healing sessions, sound journeys, yoga and more!

THE BEST FISHING COMPETITION IN NZ
The Stabicraft Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic, held every Labour Weekend, is the perfect opportunity to soak up majestic views of Fiordland and the Te Anau Basin.
It really is a fishing competition for the whole family - adult, junior (12-17 years) and child (11 and under) anglers lining up to catch a fish.  
This is year 16 of the Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic and Stabicraft have again offered another awesome boat package (an 1850 Fisher, boat trailer motor package valued at over $100,000).  All you have to do is be over 18 years of age, enter the competition then catch a fish to be in the draw to win the package!

2023 Cruise Milford Take A Kid Fishing competition, McGregor Pond There is also a separate competition for children aged 11 years and under to give fishing a go. The competition is held on Saturday of Labour Weekend out at McGregor Pond, beginning at 7.30am through till 6pm. There will be expert anglers on hand to help with setting up rods and lines and to give a few tips on how to fish. They will also help to pull in the big one! The pond is stocked with fish in the days leading up to the competition giving everyone the best chance to bag a fish.

Kia ora and Welcome!  At the online Seeds Impact Conference on Thursday 5th October 2023 we will hold many sessions on a diverse range of topics presented by a wide variety of purpose driven organisations.  The site <a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" href="https://seedsconference.nz/" target="_blank">www.seedsconference.nz </a>has full updated details but here is an overview.  The theme will focus on reimagining business as a force for good, but we will cover many other topics as well.  What exactly will be covered?  It is up to those who are leading and coordinating the different sessions. Why online?  It is cheap, reduces travel and connects us across regions.  Also, this way we will cover much more by having several zoom rooms running all at the same time.  As an example - if we have 3 zoom rooms with sessions that will be 27 total sessions across the rooms during the day.   
There will also be one "Community room" where there will be networking, relationship building and break out room discussions.  We want to build a community of changemakers - not just have a conference.
There is a charge because I want to pay the people who will run the rooms, and anything leftover will be used for future costs of running similar events (in person or online).  The purpose is not to make a profit, otherwise there would be a higher charge...

The Crater Rim Ultra caters to trail runners of all levels with five races from 10km to 80km within the Christchurch city boundary. NZ Sculpture OnShore is one of Auckland’s premier art events. Held every two years, we welcome thousands of visitors from all over Auckland and wider New Zealand to come to experience both the Art and the beauty of this stunning clifftop location.
We are very privileged and immensely grateful to local Iwi and the Department of Conservation for allowing us, every two years, to be the temporary custodians of this beautiful and culturally significant site overlooking the stunning Hauraki Gulf.
NZ Sculpture OnShore is New Zealand's largest and longest running outdoor sculpture exhibition. Originally held in 1996 in the private garden of David and Genevieve Becroft on the shores of Takapuna’ s Lake Pupuke, the event became so popular, that in 2004 it moved to O Peretu, Fort Takapuna Historic Reserve on Auckland’s North Shore.
One of the rare times that the public can access both the historic Underground Fort and Officers Mess is during NZ Sculpture OnShore. The Fort, built in 1889, houses our Schools’ art exhibition and we hold our indoor gallery in The Officers Mess.
Our exhibition features work by 100 established and emerging artists from all over the country, and provides a unique snapshot of contemporary sculpture practice in New Zealand. This includes monumental stand-alone sculptures, domestic and small-scale works, ephemeral projects, light and sound art works, and many site-specific installations.
All of these artworks are for sale during the exhibition and the proceeds are donated to Women's Refuge NZ. To date, we have raised and donated over NZ$ 2.2 million to help Women's Refuge support the victims of domestic violence in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
NZ Sculpture OnShore is a grassroots community event. It is mainly run and organised by local volunteers. In this way we can keep our costs low and ensure that we are able to provide a sustainable source of income to contribute to the crucial work of Women's Refuge New Zealand, supporting victims of domestic violence. 
NZ Sculpture OnShore Limited is wholly owned by Friends of Women's Refuges Trust.

After a year of travelling internationally and nationally to celebrate his 50th year as a published writer, Witi Ihimaera returns to Wellington for his final event of the year: The annual NZSA Janet Frame Memorial Lecture: Wetewete Te Wheke! Release The Kraken! Opening the Gates on Literature in Aotearoa New Zealand. 
Matua Witi’s lecture will be followed by brief readings from four emerging writers, and then a supper and book signing, serenaded by live opera. 
Presented in partnership with New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi O Aotearoa (PEN NZ) Inc and National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātaruanga o Aotearoa.

Join us to gain insights into the recommendations from the <a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" href="https://selectcommittees.parliament.nz/v/6/3140a09c-1d05-4275-7a2f-08db9ea64502">recently released report</a> by the <a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" href="https://www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/scl/finance-and-expenditure/">Finance and Expenditure Committee</a> on the current and future nature, impact, and risks of cryptocurrencies.
Key industry leaders and independent advisors on the report, Jeremy Muir and Alex Sims, will share their insights into the recommendations presented in the report. 
This session aims to explore key aspects ranging from the basic creation and trading of cryptocurrencies to their environmental and social impact. We’ll also look at how these digital currencies could potentially affect New Zealand's financial stability, including tax implications and the challenges of regulation.
The independent advisers' report, which produced 22 recommendations specific to New Zealand, will serve as the backbone of our discussion. We'll touch on the darker side of cryptocurrencies, examining their usage by criminal organisations, and acknowledge the fast-paced changes in the cryptocurrency environment, which might make some of the data and recommendations subject to timely revisions.
This is an invaluable opportunity for financial analysts, policy makers, tech innovators, and academics to gain expert insights into the complex world of cryptocurrencies. It's not just about understanding the technologies; it's about participating in shaping New Zealand's policy and public discourse on this transformative financial ecosystem.
