Humanitix helps Take2 expand into Australia

Humanitix was thrilled to attend the recent launch of Take2's new tech training program for inmates at Mary Wade Correctional Centre in Sydney.

Take2, a New Zealand-based charity, is dedicated to providing education and employment opportunities for justice-impacted individuals. This marks Take2's first program launch in Australia, following their successful work across the ditch. To further their mission, Take2 also recently launched Take2 Elevate —a web design agency that reinvests all proceeds into Take2.

Humanitix is proud to be a supporter of Take2's expansion into Australia. We were not only one of their funding supporters, but we've also partnered to support graduates of the Take2 program. We've been working with program participants to create marketing materials for our website, and we're very much looking forward to collaborating with graduates from the inaugural Australian cohort.

We're excited by the opportunity to offer justice-impacted individuals a genuine second chance at building a career that can support themselves, their families, and their communities.

At Humanitix, we're committed to making a positive impact, and that goes beyond just donating 100% of our profits to effective charities. We also actively seek to offer opportunities to those who might otherwise struggle to access them.

The launch event was truly inspiring. We heard from two inmates who shared some of the incredible development work they'd already completed. One inmate summed it up perfectly:

“Take2 works. It really, really works. The teachers are phenomenal, the training is phenomenal. They don't treat us like inmates, they treat us like human beings.”

Another inmate echoed this sentiment, highlighting the transformative power of the program: “Coding is a way to get us into a career that we knew nothing about before! Take2 and the knowledge we are gaining is not only impacting us, but positively affecting people around us. I've never seen inmates so engaged in a program. They're turning up early and attending optional classes – that says a lot!”

Humanitix is proud to be a part of this initiative, and we look forward to witnessing the positive impact Take2 has on the lives of these participants, their families, and the wider Australian community.
